Life is a'changin

Was up everyone.  Now that I'm a freshman in High School, academics sure are different.  I have homework in every subject everyday and I also have quizzes that I don't know about everyday.  There is an upside though, I have a week and a day off for Thanksgiving.  Then for Christmas I get two weeks off.  Oh yeah, if you or any of your friends are in need of a word processor don't spend hundreds on Microsoft Word.  Get Open Office.org.  Its free to download and its almost as good as Microsoft Word.  My media selection for this post is Souled Out by Lecrae.  Its a Christian Rap song so if you don't like rap you might not like it.  You can go to last.fm and listen to it for free, there's a search box, type in souled out and then click search and when the page loads the little juke box thing with come up with your controls then click play.  I advise bringing up a new tab and to read the lyrics as you play the song for full effectiveness.  So that's all I got for ya guys and gals until the next time.

Its Been A While

It has been a while since I've last posted on my blog. I'm sorry to keep you all in suspense. The NBA Finals are airing and I enjoy watching it not only as entertainment, but as a player, considering I've been playing basketball for the past two years. I really want to try to learn some of the strategies and techniques. As for who I want to win, I like both teams, but more importantly I want the team that plays the hardest to win. I also realize there is some World cup soccer qualifier games going on right now. Here is a game on the internet, you can play for free, its called Euro Cup Soccer 2008. I really stink at this game, so I kept taking really long shots, and I amazed my self and made a full court goal, it was pretty insane. Anyways here's the link to the game, http://www.miniclip.com/games/euro-cup-soccer-2008/en/
As for my media reccomendation, I like the TV Series Planet of the Apes from 1974. because I think warfare between humans and monkeys are interesting and there's good twists in the episodes. Its pretty clean too, its got violence and trickery, but it has no sex or cussing. Here's a link to buy the DVD's. http://www.amazon.com/Planet-Apes-Complete-TV-Apes-TV/dp/B000GUJZ0K/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1213319319&sr=8-1

Redskins Special!

Hey Everyone

I'm going to do a recap of the Redskins Draft.  First off, they trade out of the first round to the 3rd pick of the second round and select Devin Thomas, wide receiver, from Michigan State.  He's a big wide receiver 6 foot, 2 inches, and 217 pounds.  In 2007, he had 79 catches, 1,260 yards, and 8 touchdowns.  He was a good pick and the Redskins have addresses their need of some big, physical wide receivers.  Next pick was Fred Davis, Tight End round 2 pick 17, USC,  he is a great receiver as he had 62 catches, 881 yards, and 8 touchdowns.  He should be an immediate impact. Next pick, second round pick 20,  Malcolm Kelly, wide receiver, from Oklahoma.  At 6 foot, 4 inches, Kelly is a red zone target and should have no problem catching touchdowns for the Redskins, considering the average NFL cornerback is only 5 foot 11 inches to 6 foot.  In 2007, he had 49 catches for 821 yards and 9 touchdowns for the Sooners.  The Redskins next selected Chad Rinehart, 3rd round pick 33, Offensive Tackle, Northern Iowa.  Rinehart will probably move to Offensive Guard for the Redskins.  He has strong arms and should start playing at the start of the 2009 season.  Then, the Redskins drafted Justin Tryon, Cornerback, Arizona State, round 4 pick 25.  He should become the starter soon since Shawn Springs is 33 years old.  Tryon had 56 takles and 3 interceptions in 2007.  He is undersized but loves the game.  Next, the Redskins picked Durant Brooks, Punter, Georgia Tech, round 6 pick 2.  This guy is a one in a lifetime punter.  In college he had a 76 yard punt.  The Redskins picked Kareem Moore, round 6 pick, pick 14.  He had 73 tackles and 4 interceptions in 2007.  He is likely the replacement of Sean Taylor.  The Redskins selected Colt Brennan, Hawaii, Round 6 pick 20. He threw for 14,193 yards, 131 touchdowns, and 42 interceptions.  Redskins selected Rob Jackson, Defensive End, Kansas State, Round 6 pick 35.  In 2007, he had 25 tackles and 2 sacks.  He could be a starter eventually but needs to get stronger.  Chris Horton was drafted round 7 pick 42.  He is a Free Safety out of UCLA.  He had 90 tackles and 4 interceptions.  He will fight with Kareem Moore for Free Safety.  This is a Boom or Bust year for Jason Campbell, he has plenty of weapons and should have a pro bowl season. My song recommendation is Moment of Glory by Sonic Flood.  I just want to let everyone know I will make different Christian media recommendations regularly on my blog.

Prayer and Work

Please pray for my Grandpa who lost everything on his computer today. He is very tense as he tries to get it all back. My dad and I put a weather strip under our porch door, and we fixed all the rest of the holes in the screen. My porch is good to go! Hopefully, I'll be able to have people over to my house over the summer. Its getting close to the time to start mowing the grass again and I mow the lawn at my house. Maybe it will be nice out when I mow. That summer heat really burns me up. I reccomend a book I'm reading currently to Christian called Defending Your Faith by R.C. Sproul. It has logical explanations about why people should convert to Christianity. It also helps Christians who are trying to share the Gospel with their unbelieving friends.

Easter

Its been a long week for me and its good that its now the weekend and easter. Today, My dad and I went to get coal for our stove. When we got home, between my dad and I, we carried 1,600 pounds worth of coal to our basement. Each coal bag weighs 40 pounds. There was 41 bags and it took some time. On Friday, my grandpa and I copied and put over 126 bulletins together for his church. Easter Sunday is the happiest Sunday of every year for me. This year, I got together Easter eggs and put fun activities in the eggs for kids. I sent the eggs to my grandparents for them to take to their church. I reccomend a Christian song I recently heard called "Step Up To The Microphone" by Newsboys. This song talks about evangelizing and sharing the Gospel.

FCS Basketball and Sports

Last Friday, my basketball team, the FCS Warriors won a game. I made a basket and commited a foul. This week, I've been off of school for 2 days, Tuesday and Wednesday, because of freezing rain and snow. I have off on Friday too.
I've been keeping up with sports lately. Jason Kidd of the New Jersey Nets has been traded to the Dallas Mavericks for multiple players. Today, February 13, Arlen Specter, republican senator of Pennsylvania met with Roger Goodell, commisioner of the NFL, about the Patriots Spygate issue. The Patriots are cheaters, but Goodell destroyed the videotapes of the Patriots spy videos. The Patriots have also been accused of video taping the St. Louis Rams walkthrough before Super Bowl 36 in which the Rams and Patriots played against each other. This Morning, Roger Clemens and Brian McNamee testified before congress today on ESPN. Roger Clemens has been accused of using steroids or human growth hormones. I don't know if he did it or not. I have no opinion if he did it or not.
